Lesley Nimmo

Lesley Nimmo works with Project Ability’s Aspire programme and paints her daily activities and surrounding commonplace objects building her images from memory; her boiler, a shopping list, her mum and a blue car.

Nimmo uses her paintings as a method of communication, as reminders of household chores and shopping to be done. The paintings feature thick applications of paint and are constructed by solid single brush strokes of hot pink, cobalt blue and bright orange drawing attention to the power of colour and movement.
