Short film made in Project Ability studios screened at Market Gallery
Market gallery put out a call for people to make short movies in their neighbourhood. As part of this, people working in the Trongate 103 building from various organisations decided to make a collaborative piece, each making a one minute segment. These segments were then edited together. To make the pieces work together as a whole, it was decided that each segment should begin and end with the same image – a paper mask.
Max Mcilmunn, who regularly takes part in Project Ability film and animation projects, conceived and shot his segment of the film in our workshops one afternoon. He arrived with no real idea of what he was going to do and, once started, wasn’t sure if what he was doing was going to work but with only a very short production time, he thought he "might as well just roll with his idea and see how it would turn out". He later spent a few hours at home on post production, editing and adding voices, sound effects and CGI. The final piece is less than one minute long.
