After a short hiatus this summer, the Walking Group was back in action last week with a return visit to Glasgow Sculpture Studios for a workshop and a walk along the nearby canal.
We started with a short meeting in GSS with Elizabeth Wewiora, the learning and engagement coordinator there, and an archaeologist involved in an archive project along the canal. We went out for a walk along the canal walkway and stopped to chat about some of the remains of historic sites that we found along the way.
We also gathered some materials and objects along the way to take back to GSS to make some cyanotypes – a very old form of photography that uses sunlight to develop images onto light sensitive paper.
Our next outing will be to the nearby Glue Factory when we will meet Elizabeth again and see the resulting images.
