... a thousand ships is truly becoming a touring exhibition! The beautiful group show of large scale portraits by Connect artists is now in Touchbase / Sense Scotland until the end of February 2011.

... a thousand ships is an exhibition of large scale portrait drawings and paintings on canvas by artists who attend Project Ability’s Connect programme. Over a period of several months, thirty artists have worked on this project, creating portraits of themselves, their fellow artists, people known and people unknown. 15 of these artists will see their work exhibited in TouchBase.

For some of the artists involved in the project it is the first time they have made a painting of this scale, duration and intensity.

The artists whose work is in the exhibition are: Norrie Berry, Lyndsey Black, Margaret Booth, Janette Brown, Lea Cummings, Grant Davidson, Marlies Hyman, Stuart Low, Esme Macleod, Tommy McNeill, Ruth Mutch, Kristen Neilson, William Smith, Catriona Thompson.
