Parallel Visions
Dates: 08 Mar 2012 - 25 Apr 2012
Preview: Thursday 8 March 2012
Location: Creativity Explored, San Francisco
Artists Carol Lee and Simon McAuley have been selected to take part in Parallel Visions, a group exhibition at Creativity Explored, San Francisco.
Parallel Visions shows work by artists from five different art and disability organizations in relationship with work made by selected artists at Creativity Explored. Works on view include a range of artwork, from figurative ink drawings to abstract pieces that emphasize unique marking practices.
The resonance felt between these artists, working in disparate studios across the globe, is uncanny and inspiring. This show assembles a group of artists who emphasize drawing processes and repetitive mark making to create their work. A range of artwork is on view, though three distinct themes emerge: abstract works; figurative ink drawings; and, work comprised of poetic text and number systems. Curated by Eric Larson and Amy Taub
