Young Talent, now in its eleventh year, is an exhibition of artwork created by children and young people. This year, we have a vibrant and eclectic mixture of painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics and textiles. Young Talent 2011 is a colourful playground of artwork showcasing different techniques and visions, full of innovation, adventure and a reminder of the unlimited creativity of children and young people.
George Jamieson has designed the graphic material for the exhibition and we will also have a selection of mugs and cushions made by the young people available in the Project Ability shop.
The Create programme engages with children and young people with disabilities in a wide range of creative activities including visual arts, film and new media. The programme includes evening and weekend workshops, one-off projects, events, film screenings and exhibitions.
All of our activities are tailored to the individuals we work with and are fully inclusive. The professional artists who deliver the programme are highly experienced in working with young people with a wide range of support needs. We work with individuals, families, schools, voluntary sector groups and other arts organisations. Our target age group is 5 – 25 years.
Opening: Thursday 07 July, 6pm – 9pm.
