"This silk panel is part of a trio of panels I have designed for wall hangings. The design was sixties inspired but still relates to my canvas designs, as they are both experimants of tones of the same colour and similar colours. This kind of design has always fascinated me as it is endless and the method encourages original patterns. I found the actual painting liberating and fun as I could go anywhere with the wax lines." Liam adds some new layers to his Kurt Cobain images, to create a different texture he is using a brush. "The idea was found in New Musical Express. It was pretty basic, the hair had blue tints in it already, so I emphasised a few blue tints and as his eyes were really blue, I blackened one eye so that the other eye sticks out more. The blue colour was spray paint but the black I hand painted so that the shadows show more."
