How to take part
Project Ability's 2008 visual art programme for adults with learning disabilities
Project Ability's visual art programme is for people with learning disabilities, sensory impairment and autism spectrum disorder.
The workshops take place in Project Ability's Studios. The workshop is accessible and we have facilities for printmaking, ceramics, animation, digital arts, drawing and painting, wood carving, stained glass, glass fusion and more.
Materials, equipment and professional tuition is provided. The tutors are professional artists. Participants are supported to learn new skills, progress their creative development and achieve their artistic goals. Taking part in this programme inspires people to believe in their talent and abilities, it increases their confidence, independence and self esteem. Some people have been attending the programme for many years and are confident and ambitious artists. Others enjoy a sensory experience exploring different materials and sensations. Everyone enjoys the social aspect of being part of a group of like minded people. |

We regularly exhibit the art work that is created by our participants in Project Ability's Galleries and through our exhibition programme in arts venues across Scotland and internationally, and in libraries, offices, restaurants, and waiting rooms etc.
