Project Ability Launch a New Book Exploring the

Creativity of Young People on the Autistic Spectrum

‘Spectrum - A landscape of Autism, Asperger's and Children's Art'

Project Ability is delighted to announce the launch of Spectrum - A Landscape of Autism, Asperger's and Children's Art , a new book by Janeta Platun, describing her experience of working as an artist-in-residence in the Autism Units of three schools in Glasgow.

The book (priced £5.00) showcases the creative, witty and imaginative talent of young people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). It features beautiful colour images of artwork and quotes by some of the 67 children from Ruchill, St Vincent's, and Toryglen Primary Schools who participated in the 16-month programme.

Jan Platun, the book's Author said, “ Spectrum is a record of my work within the Autism Units and explores the varied and complex ways in which the young people have approached and engaged in the process of making art. The publication shows what can happen when an artist works in a school and provides alternative ways of working; and aims to provide an insight into the creative needs of children with autism and asperger syndrome.”

Copies of the book are on sale now.

Price: £5.00 (or £7.50 including postage and packing to a UK address.)
