“My artwork has been inspired by scenes viewed from places I have visited and captured on film or sketched on location. I have been interested in art from my teenage years and I tend to favour traditional landscape painting. Now 54 years old, I still experiment with colour in a variety of mediums, and since joining Project Ability's Trongate Studios some four years ago after a mental breakdown, I have enthusiastically pursued art and have benefited from the facilities provided by all the staff members (i.e. framing, exhibition opportunities and all aspects of the art world). |

The main reasons my work is of a traditional nature is firstly because I like work that is recognisable in its content, and that depicts nature in all its forms with a mixture of vibrant colours and interesting light and shade; and secondly because it has a light, simplistic effect, which I find therapeutic since developing my illness.
I have previously shown at a number of venues with mixed success, and through Project Ability I have exhibited in Britannic Asset Management's corporate headquarters, at the Glasgow Art Fair and in the Lie of the Land exhibition at Project Ability in May 2005.”
