The project is funded by NHS Greater Glasgow, and participants must be referred to the Studios by their mental health support worker (such as community psychiatric nurse, occupational therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, or other appropriate person).
The referral procedure is very straightforward. The potential participant and referrer visit the studios to meet the staff and assess the suitability of the project. After filling in some simple forms the person's name is registered on the waiting list. Following this they will be invited to attend a regular weekly workshop where they can access the facilities until an individual studio space becomes available.
(Please note that as demand is very high, waiting times for a studio space can vary.)
