John McNaught is a very talented artist working in our Aspire studios. His paintings have been exhibited nationally and internationally, and are a testament to how far he has come since the incident that changed his life several years ago.
In 2006, McNaught suffered a massive stroke which left him paralyzed on his right side and unable to talk. Whilst in hospital, after months of extensive physiotherapy, John started attending art classes, which helped him cope with the devastating effects of the stroke. He had to learn how to draw using his left hand, and soon discovered a real interest in the arts. Since then his artistic practice has gone from strength to strength.
