2023 Art in the Gart:
A space for creativity and well being
‘The Reconnect Collection’
Art in the Gart and Project Ability are proud to present this exhibition as part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival 2023, on show now at Art in the Gart, Ground floor the Hub, Gartnavel Royal Hospital.
Led by the Mental Health Foundation, the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival (SMHAF) is one of the world’s leading arts events dedicated to mental health.
Established in 2007, the annual programme features hundreds of events and engages up to 25,000 people. It covers all artforms, from theatre, film and music, to visual arts, writing and dance.
By engaging with artists, connecting with communities and forming collaborations, we celebrate the artistic achievements of people with experience of mental health problems, challenge stigma and perceptions, and encourage participation in the arts to promote good mental health for all.
Exhibiting artists include Project Ability artists Mary T. Clements, Jane Fisher, Stuart Low and Simon McAuley. Also included are artists working with a Project Ability tutor within Gartnavel Royal Hospital.
This project would not have been possible without the financial support of NHSGGC Endowments 2022.
