We engage young people aged 5-28 in their own communities through a diverse programme of outreach activities, working with a number of partners including schools, hospitals, day centres, play schemes and youth groups.
Our outreach programme is delivered through a variety of donations and grants as well as commissioned activity.
Schools
We work with schools in a variety of ways:
Our Gallery Education Programme offers a unique day-long learning opportunity for pupils where they can explore our current exhibition and work in our studios exploring new mediums and techniques to create their own masterpieces in response to their visit.
Prices start at £500 for 10 pupils.
Our commissioned workshops offer a tailored learning experience with a focus on school curriculum and events and can take place either in school or at our fully accessible studios at Trongate 103. Recent workshops have included school wide programming for Children’s Mental Health Week and a 3-school project strengthening bonds between pupils on a shared campus. If you would like to discuss any ideas you have with our Create Programme Manager please don’t hesitate to email create@project-ability.co.uk
From time to time we have the opportunity to invite schools to take part in targeted programmes and events. Recently these have included a nature based visual arts project in partnership with RSPB and heritage activities exploring Renfrewshire’s rich textile history.
Hospitals
We work with hospitals on ward to support patients in a variety of clinical settings. Please get in touch if you would like to chat more about how regular or one-off activity would benefit your patients.
Community
Our community partners include day centres, youth groups, playschemes and other third sector organisations. Our workshops offer new experiences, enhance existing provision and provide new learning opportunities as well as improving wellbeing and confidence.
