Weekend Retail Assistant
Duties:
Supervising the organisations retail operation.
Assisting customers in the Gallery shop providing them with product knowledge and promoting items for sale.
Maintaining the quality of merchandising in the gallery shop replenishing stocks and keeping displays clean and organised.
Handle all cash and card payments for gallery and shop sales and all ancillary products.
Enter sales in the organisations sales records
Assist the Exhibitions and marketing team in identifying trends in shop sales
Provide visitors to the gallery with comprehensive information about the exhibitions, our artists and the organisation in general.
Ensure security of both shop and gallery and action emergency procedures as required.
Essential Skills and experience:
Excellent customer service experience
Accurate cash handling skills.
Excellent communication skills
Must be able to work independently but take direction from senior team members as required.
Experience of working in a creative arts environment advantageous.
Knowledge of excel spreadsheets advantageous
Terms and conditions:
Permanent Contract 3.5 hours per week usually worked on a 7 hour day every second Saturday.
£10 hourly rate
