The Create programme engages with children and young people with disabilities aged 5-28 in a wide range of creative activities including visual arts, film and new media.
The programme includes evening and weekend workshops, one-off projects, events, film screenings and exhibitions. Our in-house programme is delivered from our fully accessible and specially equipped Trongate 103 workshops and our outreach programme from venues nationwide.
All of our activities are tailored to the individuals we work with and are fully inclusive. The professional artists who deliver the programme are highly experienced in working with young people with a wide range of support needs.
We provide a high level of support and will typically offer a ratio of one artist to four young people. Young people with personal care needs should be supported by an appropriate adult. Creating a fully inclusive environment is important to us and siblings and friends are welcome to attend our classes.
We work with individuals, families, schools, voluntary sector groups, museums, galleries, support agencies and other visual arts organisations and welcome new collaborations and partnership working.
