This week, we are very pleased to bring you a portrait by ReConnect artist David Bradley.
If we are to consider that a portrait describes something about what a person was like and/or how the artist viewed them and that painting is a process built over time through an accumulation of gestures; then David Bradley can be classified as a painter with traditional values at the forefront of his making process.
The painted mark is an object in itself and also becomes the object of what it describes; David Bradley’s paintings simultaneously represent portraiture and create characters in a world of their own.
By looking at others, and directing our gaze outwards, we also look inwards and invite the world to look in as we discover ourselves.
