This month, tutor John Fitzpatrick held a week-long workshop for three members of Connect, during which they explored the printmaking process of drypoint. The length of the workshop allowed participants to properly explore the medium and to familiarise themselves with it.
The three artists -two of whom had never tried drypoint before- learnt the basics of the technique and then experimented to create a finished work. Most of the work was made with two plates (two colours), and one of the artists used the chine-colle technique which mixes printing and collaging.
