Our Artwork of the Week is ‘The Late Starter’ by Glasgow based collage artist Pum. ‘The Late Starter’ is just one of the many gorgeous collage pieces Pum has created for her solo exhibition, Earth Echo : Affective Reflection. The work in this exhibition has been meticulously created and composed by Pum, and each individual piece exudes depth and meaning through symbolism and recycled imagery.
In addition to presenting the collages, Pum has also worked with sound artist Gordon Kennedy in creating a soundscape for the show. It is itself a collage of different recordings made by the two artists. The body of work in Earth Echo: Affective Reflection, including ‘The Late Starter’ is a cohesive and wonderful mix of imagery and intent. Experienced with the audio, the gallery has been transformed into a tranquil space for reflection and thought. The show is up until the 27th of April.
