Walking group: St Mungo’s Museum of Religious Life and Art
This week our walking group ventured out into the Glasgow sunshine and took a stroll up the High Street to visit the St Mungo’s Museum of Religious Life and Art. It’s not a very large museum compared to some, but it’s full of very interesting objects that illustrate some of the history and customs of various religions around the world.
The group were impressed with the collection and with how the objects were displayed, but a little dismayed by the education room which could really do with being updated in places. They also enjoyed the views across to Glasgow Cathedral and Necropolis from the upper floor and have earmarked them for future outings.
Sadly the cafe is currently closed for an indefinite period so after a look around the exhibits, it was back down the High Street where everyone went their separate ways.
