Walking group: Gro Garden part II

On Wednesday the 19th July the walking group returned to Gro Garden at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The group had previously been there in June, but I was unable to attend. The group worked with tutor Rachel again and it was lovely to also meet and work with her. We crossed town and caught a bus, it was nice weather and town was very busy, we passed GOMA and got a sneak peak of next weeks trip (I’ll keep it a secret for now).

This visit we made a couple of crafts and drew on seed paper. This is recyclable paper with seeds in it that you can bury in a garden and let grow once you are ready to dispose of it, it is a fun way to recycle. The crafts involved god’s eyes and elderflower beads. The gods eye is a craft where you wrap wool around two sticks to create a hanging ornament, they seem to go by many names. For beads we had branches of the Elder tree that we whittled and chopped into small shapes that can have the centre poked out to create wooden beads.

I think we all had a lot of fun and Rachel is a very good host and tutor.
