Walking group visit Street Level and Glasgow Print Studio

The current exhibition in Street Level is a belter! It’s big and bold and full of interest. ‘Brutal Scotland: Scotland’s Post-War Modernist Architecture’ by Simon Phipps is an exhibition that documents brutalist architecture across Scotland. Our group really enjoyed spotting the buildings they recognised and also guessing the songs from the lyrics contained in some of the pieces. These are from songs that were popular at the time the buildings were designed and built and there are further clues with the initials of the performers also being shown. If you have a look through our photos you can play too!

In contrast to Street Level’s big and bold show, ‘Small Measures’ at Glasgow Print Studios is a group exhibition of smaller works made by members and late members. Our group were fascinated by the variety of skilfully made pieces on show.

The Street Level exhibition runs until 16th May and you can find further information at Simon Phipps – Brutal Scotland: Scotland’s Post-War Modernist Architecture – Street Level Photoworks

The Glasgow Print Studios exhibition runs until 28th March and all the artworks from the show can be seen at Small Measures | 6 – 28 March 2026 | shop.glasgowprintstudio.co.uk

The walking group is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.
