Artist Talk: Simon McAuley

“Our work here is never over” is a group show of new work by artists who had attended our Connect programme.  The Connect programme which ended in June 2012 provided a safe, supportive, professional arts environment to people recovering from mental ill-health.

Our work here is never over” showcases the artists’ talent and their commitment to pursuing artistic excellence.

The exhibition opened on Friday the 26th October with former Connect artist Simon McAuley discussing his practice and his artistic journey; defining and redefining his mark marking, his explorations of colour and media and his current passage into painting.

Simon a captivating speaker is back at Project Ability accessing the studio twice a week as part of ReConnect.  Simon is a member of the ReConnect steering group which is working in partnership with Project Ability to identify how we can best provide and sustain an arts service to people with mental ill health conditions.
