Congratulations to Turner Prize nominee Nnena Kalu!

All of us here at Project Ability are very excited to congratulate Glasgow born Nnena Kalu for being one of this year’s Turner Prize nominee artists! We couldn’t be happier for Kalu, who we had the pleasure of working with in 2018. Project Ability invited Kalu to exhibit with us for Glasgow International;  making it her first solo exhibition.

Kalu’s wrapped sculptures were made in-situ at our gallery in Glasgow, over a two week period leading up to, and as part of, Glasgow International Festival. Audiences were invited to see the exhibition being made by Kalu, and watch the way she is 100% absorbed in the rhythm of her art making practice.

This video, made during Kalu’s Glasgow International solo exhibition with Project Ability, captures the artist while she creates her sculptures,

All of us at Project Ability are wishing Nnena and the whole team at her studio, ActionSpace, the very best of luck!
