Curator Event at Kelvingrove Art Gallery

Thoughts from the studio – Entry IV, by Morag MacGilchrist

‘On Friday the 26th August I did a meet the curator event at Kelvingrove Museum with Claire Coia from the Open Museums team. We spent 2 hours engaging with the public, discussing 2 exhibits, Art Extraordinary and Unlocking The Extraordinary, as well as showing people the handling kit and doing art activities.

We met with many people both locals and tourists from abroad, we were able to send people home with postcard art activity packs and information on Project Ability. Visitors were inspired by Artist Extraordinary Flora Johnstone who covered a bus and her entire cottage with shell art! The cottage is now being restored by new owners, and visitors to our event created their own shell art which will be sent and added to the walls of Shell Cottage.’
