As part of Learning Disability Week 2026, we got messy, creative and had lots of fun with our “Make Your Mark” plasticine printing workshops at The Community Hub at Glasgow university. (Big thanks to Callum and Susan who made sure we were well looked after).
Pupils from St Francis, Hyndland, Drummore and St Mary’s Primary Schools explored printing using plasticine, textured stamps and all sorts of interesting found objects. We experimented with different shapes, patterns and textures to see what marks we could create.
Everyone had the chance to design and print their own individual bunting flag. They could choose to take their flag home or add it to a growing string of colourful printed bunting for their school.
It was fantastic to see how every pupil came up with something different, from bold patterns and curious textures to completely unexpected prints. There was no right or wrong way to “make your mark”!
Jonathan McKinstry (Aspire artist) co – led one workshop, while Cameron Morgan (Aspire Artist) joined Project Ability Tutor Valerie for the other three sessions.
We made marks, we made prints, we made bunting and most importantly, we made sure everyone left their own little mark!
