On Wednesday 2nd August the Walking Group visited Maryhill Burgh Halls to see two exhibitions. We firstly saw STRIKE! An exhibition about the workers of the Bryant and May match factory and it’s infamous 1888 strike. Photographs and personal stories are accompanied by prints created by Rabia Saleem. It’s a fascinating social history exhibit and it runs until September 12th. There will be community day events on the 19th of August including art workshops.
Then it was along to the back of the lower hall to a wonderful collection of drawings by Jo Sunshine. Jo is a Glasgow based visually impaired artist who uses vibrant colours in her cityscape drawings. You can follow her journey under @josunshineart on both facebook and instagram.
