Open Gallery – a picture is worth a thousand words and yesterday our gallery rocked with laughter and song.
Artists; Tommy, Edward, Joseph, Marie, Martin and their support workers joined drama artist Clare Hume in the gallery to explore the stories behind the pictures in our current exhibition: Picture This.
Many Ships by Albert Greig started everyone off on a voyage to far flung destinations and some more familiar places…..
such as Lourdes (by Willie Docherty)…….
and Blackpool (by John McDiarmid).
They saw beautiful buildings in Morocco, savoured the scent of Moroccan spices and coffee beans and danced to some wonderful music.
Two Men by Tommy Mason, inspired a series of Laurel and Hardy routines.
Pauline Jackson’s Two Panda’s gave the group permission to be cute and cuddly!
The group finished their journey back in the gallery where they talked about the smells, shapes, sounds and colours they had experienced.
Finally taking a flotilla of coloured scarves on a dance round the gallery bringing together the sights and sounds of the exhibition.
