For the first time in 2013, we are very pleased to bring you this painting by Ralph Douglas for the Artwork of the Week series!
Ralph has depicted Stirling Castle and its surrounding landscape beautifully by painting the rolling fields in various shades of green and adding the smaller details of the brickwork and the few grazing sheep with more precise brushwork . Ralph’s work is vigorous and playful demonstrating an ambling and experimental approach towards the use of line in paintings.
