Walking Group visit The Rupture

A group of people look at a small cube of resin resting on the floor. The resin holds an object inside it. They are all in a wide gallery space.

Walking Group visit The Rupture and RE STRUCTURE

We had a lovely mild autumnal day for this walk and made our way across the Albert Bridge to Florence Street to visit the new home of The Common Guild. The current exhibition is called ‘The Rupture‘ and is by artist Tarik Kiswanson. We were given a short introduction to the works, which are spread across three rooms, by Katyana, one of the staff. It’s an elegant show of mainly sculptural pieces that are made with great precision and technical expertise. Objects suspended in blocks of resin were particularly impressive.

From here we went along the riverside to Stallan-Brand gallery to see the exhibition RE STRUCTURE by Bronwen Sleigh. Her colourful prints, drawings and sculptures are inspired by buildings, so fit nicely in this architects office gallery.

The Tarik Kiswanson exhibition finishes on 30 November 2024 and Bronwen Sleigh on 21 November.
