From the Archive is a small selection of paintings chosen from our archive room on the third floor of Trongate 103. We began the selection with trains, then we found planes, and then automobiles. This exhibition highlights just a few of the many many wonderful paintings we have stored here at Project Ability. Beyond its visual appeal, the paintings invite reflection on how we move through our environments; physically, emotionally, and socially. In bringing together paintings of transport, landscape and travel, it takes us on several different journeys! Those across cities and oceans, and those within the self. By celebrating works from Project Ability’s archives, the exhibition not only honours the artists’ achievements but also underscores the importance of preserving and sharing their stories.
Exhibiting artists,
Edward Henry, Tommy Mason, Jonathan McKinstry, Cameron Morgan, Struan Robb and Martin Sloss.

Project Ability creates opportunities through inclusive art for all. Since 1984, we’ve been supporting, celebrating and platforming diversity within the contemporary visual arts sector. Here at Trongate 103, on the third floor, we provide a welcoming arts community for people with learning disabilities and mental ill-health. Here, we can provide the space and expertise to allow these artists to express themselves, build confidence and achieve their potential.
Our three core workshops are:
ReConnect: An open studio for adults with experience of mental ill-health.
Aspire: A visual arts programme for adults with learning disabilities.
Create: An arts programme for children and young people with disabilities.
We also host a year-round calendar of projects, masterclasses and exhibitions to reach out and connect people and communities across Scotland. Our gallery and shop, on the first floor of Trongate 103, are essential spaces used to promote the artists and their work.
