Project Ability is pleased to present an exhibition of new work by James Hardie in our Project Space here at Trongate 103.
James Hardie is an artist working with Project Ability’s Aspire programme. His fresh style and unique compositions caught the eye of one of our volunteer artists, Mattie Roberts. Mattie and fellow artist Lizzie Urquhart fell in love with Hardie’s work and together have organised this show to celebrate his artistic talent and creativity. Mattie describes Hardie’s work below…
“James Hardie’s mixed media drawings combine delicate light lines that skim the surface of the paper with heavier, denser, inky brushstrokes. He makes these marks with apparent ease and confidence while always producing a beautifully balanced and refined result.
Whether working in ink, oil pastel or felt tip pen, on thick card or acetate, his style always comes through, adapting new materials effectively to convey his lively forms.
Without working from visual prompts, James applies his own personal and unique mark making to whatever tools and materials he handles, consistently producing works of beauty.”
Open each day from 1pm -5pm. Closed Sunday and Monday.
