Reimagining Art is an art programme run by The National Autistic Society Scotland. Over the course of a year Reimagining Art delivers art to a group of 10 autistic young people aged 16-25, living in Glasgow and the surrounding areas. Each session takes place fortnightly at Project Ability art studios in Glasgow city centre where members develop their artistic skills and build social connections with their peers in an inclusive and accessible environment.
Our aim is to engage young people in high-quality art activities that empower them, building their confidence and skills, enhancing their health and wellbeing as well as personal development through self-expression. Our project aims to tackle barriers to arts participation and to reduce social isolation among autistic young people. Sessions are member led and include different art forms such as collage, painting and printmaking, illustration, design and sculpture. Each session is tailored to members individual support needs and designed to cultivate their unique strengths and talents. Our end of year exhibition will celebrate the members achievements showcasing work from each project. The exhibition is open to the public from Monday 01/07 to the Saturday 06/07, 10am to 5pm.
