ReConnect Group Show

ReConnect Group Show

Project Ability is pleased to present the first artistic outcome from our new ReConnect Programme – a thematic group show exhibiting new works by Margaret Booth, Lea Cummings, Johanna Gray, Carol Lee and Norman Wallace exploring the theme of architectural interiors.

A series of archetypal images play alongside the more abstract and experimental works with rooms seen in many different schematic perspectives. The exhibition shows a sense that each artist is attempting to create something ambitious through a relatively small aperture in the real world; a room or a window. Forms of living are exemplified in pieces of furniture, room reconstructions, architectural models, futuristic ideals and private/public living spaces tracing the development of interiors in relation to art and the fluid exchange between interior design and artistic practice.

To coincide with the exhibition, Project Ability will also be exhibiting a series of sculptures in the corridor space outside the 1st Floor gallery 2-4 August. These works were made by the ReConnect artists during workshops ‘Sculpting with Jason’ and ‘Casting with Aelfred’ with Jason Pyper Davis and Aelfred de Sigley.  Exhibiting artists are Margaret Booth, Marlies Hijman, Esme Macleod, David McCracken, Genevieve Rose and Elizabeth Sim.
