The 10 artists that were selected to work on our project with the SECC are already hard at work! For just over two weeks now, they have been exploring the SECC in all of its aspects: its location, surroundings, and interior architecture.
Most of the Connect artists have been focussing on the landscape, past and present, and the industry that was there and is no longer in existence.
The Aspire artists on the other hand seem to be more inspired by the entertainment aspect of the place: bands, comedians, circus acts… John Cocozza even drew a picture of the SECC being attacked by Daleks!
In just over two weeks, they have produced beautiful artwork in paint, ink, pastels or charcoal, so this is promising! Expect to see more very soon. For more photographs, please click here.
