Gerard Deighan’s practice is all about drawing. In his depiction of the Hammer Throw he creates the whole figure by what seems like one seamless line, demonstrating drawing’s ability to encode movement. Gerard’s directness in drawing is shown through the physicality of the gesture and the heaviness of the charcoal which appear to move across the surface.
