Artwork of the Week – A Winter Scene by Martin Sloss

Artwork of the Week is this icy looking snowscape by Martin Sloss! Made during lockdown, this mixed media work on paper is part of our current exhibition, ‘As Time Stood Still’. The exhibition, although hanging in the gallery, can only be viewed online. Have a look at it here and take a virtual tour of the exhibition too!

All of the work in ‘As Time Stood Still’ was made by Project Ability artists during lockdown. Martin Sloss usually creates big beautiful paintings on canvas, many of which can be seen on his artist page. It’s wonderful to see how he has transformed his style for working from home, to a much smaller scale and in a whole new medium.

It’s a chilly wintery scene with lots of layers and textures. The whitewash of pastel crayon over the top really ices it all up!  We absolutely love it.

Happy Holidays everyone!
