Alan Moore, Re-connect artist, has painted this wonderfully colourful Australian nesting bird for our current exhibition ‘Our work here is never over’. Alan enjoys painting for it’s therapeutic effects and before coming to Project Ability he had no formal training but just ‘did it for fun’, although he reflects he has been drawing and painting what he sees outside his window since he was a young child. This particular piece is a complex collection of mark making using acrylics, Alan’s favoured medium, and he would describe his technique as ‘letting the marks I make take over’.
