Roddy Woods‘ Penguins bring some seasonal cheer, alongside a stark climate message.
Woods paints an adorable family portrait: a chick looking up into the face of the parent penguin. But with shards of ice and chilly blue waters surrounding them, this piece focuses not just on the penguins, but on their habitat too. Dependent on sea ice, rising temperatures pose a threat to penguin populations.
The warmth of the penguins contrasts with the chilly blues and icy whites that surround them.
Roddy Woods’ Penguins are part of our christmas exhibition – The Time is Now.
