On Wednesday the 19th of October a small group of Project Ability artists visited three different exhibits at Kelvingrove, The Hunterian Art Gallery and Glasgow University respectively. At Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum we saw Journey Of The Mind, an exhibit that is part of a wider group of shows and events presented by Sikh artists, exploring the history and practice of their religion.
We then took a short walk up to The Hunterian Art Gallery where we visited an exhibit about Mary Queen Of Scots and her legacy. We saw everything from historical etchings, to movie posters and merchandise, including a Mary themed bath duck!
After that, we decided there was just enough time left to nip across the road to the main University of Glasgow building to see a photography exhibit by Zanele Muholi. This wonderful selection of self portraits are on large display stands in one of the outside courtyards and are exhibited as part of Black History Month in the uk.
