Artwork of the Week by Cameron Morgan

Batman and Robin embroidery by Cameron Morgan

This week our Artwork of the Week looks at another brilliant artist in our current exhibition, Stitched! Cameron Morgan has embroidered this amazing image of Batman and Robin scaling a building in Gotham City. The Dynamic Duo captured the fascination of so many young people back in the 60’s and 70’s and anyone growing up during those decades is sure to smile when they see this artwork.

Cameron Morgan once again shows us that he is a prolific and highly talented mutlimedium artist with the large body of work he created for this exhibition. ‘Batman and Robin’ is one of over 20 embroidered artworks by Cameron, many of them recognisable from TV and film.

Cameron Morgan is on a Project Ability trip in Shetland just now, searching out inspiration and meeting up with GAADA for a workshop. He also plans to meet with Elie Coutts, a textile artist based in Lerwick, Shetland, who he worked with remotely last year. The collaborative online project Elie and Cameron worked on together led us to the grand idea of curating this textle show! It is fitting now that Cameron has visited Shetland and met Elie face to face!

Come by to see Stitched! Open until April 1st.
