Our Artwork of the Week celebrates the wonderful artworks by Eileen Davie that are part of our current exhibition ‘The Nature of Ideas’. This exhibition is part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival and is timed to align with Mental Health Awareness Week. Project Ability’s Reconnect arts studio specifically welcomes artists who have lived experience of ill mental health. We have an excellent group of artists working with us and during the pandemic Project Ability has endeavored to reach out to everyone and offer some support and relief in the form of art. Reconnect studio facilitator Celine Mcilmunn has been holding weekly Zoom art groups with many artists who have worked within our Reconnect studios.
The theme of Mental Health Awareness Week 2021 is nature, and by no accident that is also the theme of our exhibition! The artworks by Eileen Davie, featured in the gallery below, have all been made at home over the last few months, with the plan that they would be part of this show. They show a real love of all things found in nature, even some of the not always so typically enjoyable elements of the great outdoors! There is a lovely mix of work here by Davie, and each piece is unique and very special. With the theme of nature coming through loud and proud, we just adore each of these artworks.
