Glasgow Open House Art Festival!

We are delighted to be showcasing some of the wonderful ‘Lockdown Postcards’ made by Project Ability artists over the course of the last year and a half. This was a project devised in order to help stay connected with the artists ( and tutors!) that would normally have been coming into the Project Ability studios each week. We posted blank postcards out to artists and they created artworks on them to then send back to us. Looking back on them now is a beautiful way to remember some of the nice things that were able to happen despite the enormously difficult time it was ( and still is for so many).

When we found out that the theme for this year’s Glasgow Open House Arts Festival was ‘Artists in Isolation’ we knew this was a perfect opportunity to publicly show off some of these postcards. We teamed up with the Bees Knees Cafe in Govanhill and the owner of the cafe, Anna, has been kind enough to share her window with us! See below for some images and find out all about the GOHAF 2021 here!

The gallery below shows just some of the postcards on show…. if you have time this weekend and are in the area please go down to the cafe and have a look – and a cake! The address is 83 Bowman St, Glasgow G42 8LF.

We are delighted to have a wee feature in the Herald Magazine, prominently displaying one of Ruth Mutch’s Lockdown Postcards!
