Printing workshop with Values into Action Scotland
Learning Disability Week 2023
This year’s Scottish Learning Disability Week takes place from Monday 1 – Sunday 7 May. Organisations all around the country have been organising events to network, share information and celebrate the work and lives of people with learning disabilities. If you would like to find out more and how to get involved visit SCLD.
Values into Action Scotland
As part of Learning Disability Week 2023, Project Ability invited Values into Action Scotland to participate in a printmaking workshop alongside Project Ability’s Aspire artists.
Nine guests were welcomed into the busy art studios at Trongate 103 yesterday afternoon and with the help of tutor Tracy Gorman, the group designed and printed their very own unique and beautiful tote bags! Everyone had a great time and it was lovely to welcome new artists into the Project Ability space.
This project was part of Values into Action Scotland’s ‘The life I Want’ project. ‘The Life I Want’ is the first person led public social partnership in Scotland. Covering Greater Glasgow, it creates opportunities for people with learning disabilities to make practical differences to their own lives. Find out more here.
The workshop was funded by the Glasgow Wellbeing Fund. This funding increases connectivity between people, supports access to community resources and strengthens communities.
