We are excited to announce that Project Ability is now part of the Scottish Design Exchange in Glasgow’s Buchanan Galleries!
This opportunity was first suggested to us by an ex-volunteer of Project Ability’s, Merel Bekking. Now part of the Scottish Design Exchange team, Merel and SDX invited us to display and sell some of the artworks and craft pieces that we sell in our gallery shop at Trongate 103 and our online shop.
Scottish Design Exchange has been very generous in giving us shelf space in their Glasgow shop, which is filled with amazing artworks by many different artists. As a charity, Project Ability relies on sales of our artwork to help us to continue supporting artists with disabilities, and sharing their work with the public.
About SDX
“The Scottish Design Exchange (SDX) is a Community Interest Company with two not-for-profit shops in Edinburgh and Glasgow to support more than 150 Scotland-based artists and designers.
The original idea in the summer of 2015 was to start a concept store to show how this collaborative model could work, and in the first six months, it proved an enormous success.
SDX not only allows emerging and independent makers to profit in a retail environment, but also benefits the public who can invest in locally made, quality products in the knowledge that their money is going to the right place.”
Pop in to the Buchanan Galleries and check it out! Thank you Scottish Design Exchange for this generous opportunity!
