The Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Clydebank has commissioned Project Ability to produce a series of new art works for display in the hospital.

The project began on the 20th August 2012, when artists Tracy Gorman, Cameron Morgan, John Cocozza, John McNaught, Steven Reilly and Robert McCamley visited the hospital. They took lots of photographs and explored the public areas, wards, grounds and behind the scenes peeking into the treatment rooms and operating theatres and finally treated to a lovely lunch in the staff canteen.

Since then the group have met every Monday at Project Ability’s studio to develop their ideas for their final pieces. Cameron has been drawn to the drama of the operating room while John McNaught is exploring the buildings modernist architecture and Robert McCamley is working on iconic Clydebank landmarks positioning the hospital firmly in local the environment.

The artists will continue in the studio through to the end of October when three paintings will be selected and hung in the hospital.
