Walking group: Tramway

The Walking Group explore Tramway

On Wednesday 10th May the walking group went to Tramway. We had a much larger group of people this week which was great, but as always feel free to join in with us! We took a bus over and when we arrived we decided to have a drink and chat in the cafe before viewing the exhibitions. There are currently two exhibits on at the moment, the first one we saw was Alter Altar by Jasleen Kaur. Running until October this exhibit by Pollokshields artist Kaur, uses sound to create atmosphere around objects and photographs from her life in Glasgow. We then visited Ijem nke Mmanwu m (The journey of my masquerade) by Ifeoma U. Anyaeji, which runs until June. Nigerian artist Anyaeji uses African Hair Threading techniques to create sculptures using salvaged materials, including bottles, cans and many many plastic bags. As the weather was good we then took a walk around The Hidden Gardens before heading home.
