Over the last 10 weeks Project Ability have welcome the Art Factory group from Easterhouse’s Platform into the Project Ability studio for a block of visual art workshops. The weeks have flown in and it has been a fantastic experience working with the group. They’ve had such a positive approach to suggestions and have taken on materials and techniques that they haven’t tried before and some that they have!
Art tutor Alison who led the workshops commented “We’ve tried to tackle things that wouldn’t be possible at their usual art class, like using the printing press or firing clay, even stretching and priming their own canvases before painting them.”
They group of artists made the most of their time in the studio arriving each week with a wealth of supporting material and source imagery, taking their practice seriously and producing considered and beautifully finished work.
Thank you to all the artists and tutors everyone involved in the project – It’s been a pleasure!
A special thanks to Glasgow Wellbeing Fund for funding the workshops.
