Walking Group Visit The Dick Institute, Kilmarnock
Our walking group has been to the Dick Institute several times in the past and has always found the exhibitions to be varied and interesting. On this occasion, the outing was to see ‘The Land’, an exhibition featuring artworks by members of the Society of Scottish Artists. With forty-eight artists’ work on display there is a wide variety of interpretations of the theme, using a broad range of mediums and techniques. After a look at all the pieces in the exhibition, each of our group chose one to be photographed next to before going to the café in the nearby library for a sit down and refreshments.
The Dick Institute is a short walk from Kilmarnock bus station. The exhibition is free to enter and runs until 7 June. As well as the gallery there is a library, café and museum in the building.
