Counterflows Exhibition

Project Ability have teamed up with Counterflows and Mono to bring you this amazing exhibition of portraiture! Project Ability artists were invited by the Counterflows Music Festival to make artworks from the head-shot images given to them by the musicians and performers in their Festival.

The Counterflows Music Festival “is a celebration of the experimental, the weird, the under-represented, the revelatory. Live shows, a club night, discussions, hang-outs, a small publishers fair and dedicated festival zine await.”

Project Ability was delighted to be asked by Counterflows to reimagine the portraits of the musicians. Like many festival programmes, each musician and group was asked to provide a profile image of themselves. Those images were then given to our Project Ability artists, who were asked to recreate them with their own aesthetic style. Many of the finished portraits were selected for use in the festival zine!

Several of the portraits have also been selected for an exhibition with our great friends at Mono! We will have over 20 original artworks on display, and a pile of the Counterflows’ zines too.
